Refund Policy

This policy covers money you pay into Giveway: a host's deposit of a prize pool and a backer's contribution. For the full rules see our Terms of Service.

The short version

• Money paid into a running pool is not refundable just because you changed your mind: it's shared with that round's winners.
• We automatically refund payments that can't be used (listed below).
• If something went wrong, contact support with your round link and Paystack reference.

What we refund automatically

• A second deposit for the same giveaway. If a host pays twice for a giveaway that's already funded (for example from two open tabs), the second payment is refunded in full.
• A contribution that arrives after the pool is split. Once results are calculated the pool is frozen. A payment that lands after that is refunded in full, not added.

In both cases we ask Paystack to refund the full payment. Paystack decides how long it takes to reach your bank or card, which can be several days.

Payments that didn't complete

If a payment fails or you abandon the checkout, you aren't charged and nothing is added to a pool. If you were charged but the page didn't update, wait a few minutes (we confirm payments with Paystack in the background), then contact support.

Fees

• Paystack's payment fee is added on top of what you pay, so the full amount reaches the pool. When we refund a payment, we request a refund of the whole payment.
• The bank transfer fee on a payout (₦10, ₦25 or ₦50) comes out of the winner's award and isn't refundable.
• Tips for Giveway are not added to any pool.

Cancelled giveaways

Cancelling a giveaway that was funded is handled by our team: contact support and we'll work out the refund of the deposit with you. Automatic refunds for cancelled giveaways are something we plan to add.

Awards

An award isn't a payment you made, so it isn't refunded. If a payout fails, your award is still yours: contact support so we can send it another way.

Getting a refund

Contact support and include:

1. The link to the giveaway.
2. The Paystack reference (it starts with dep_ for a deposit or contrib_ for a contribution) or the email you paid with.
3. What happened.
